Seven Strange Things About Me

I’ve been tagged by Emma Honey at Health and Fitness Fact or Fiction and about a couple of weeks on, after much umming and ahhing and using my ever dwindling resources of discernment, I’ve unearthed this natty collection.

It would have actually been much easier if I could have written up Seven Normal Things about Me. Fewer choices make for easier decisions!

Anyway, the seven listed below are all “cross your heart, hope to die” true. Sad really.

  1. I lived for a year and a half in a caravan called Morris, then in a melon coloured bus on a river with a German cobbler. We ate French pastries for breakfast every morning.

    Morris, the caravan...

  2. My husband courted me with Sunday television and canned ravioli.
  3. From the age of 21 to 24 I had an imaginary friend, a dog who was called Bossanova. Around the same time I called myself django seadog.
  4. I hitchhiked by myself for about a year around south east Australia. On my travels I found $50 seven kms outside of Wagga in the grass (I was dead broke, and it was a bloody miracle), was bought a new pair of walking boots my a stranger, stayed with a couple who were rangers for a seal colony and hitched a ride with a truckie who’d had most of his face sewn back on to his skull after a motor cycle accident.
  5. The last kids’ story I wrote was about two cats called Cheese and Elbows who unionized a small fishing village.

    Cheese and Elbows

  6. When I was studying for my post graduate in Public Relations I got a part time job as a forklifter at a newspaper printing plant. I continued with it for three years.
  7. I love humanity’s vulnerabilities.

The rules are now that I have to tag some other people.

My choices are:

Miss D from Prefurr. Believe you me she’s got LOADS to share.

The lovely Jennifer from How to Hold A Cat Without Losing An Eye.

Trent from Trentonomicon – one of Australia’s finest Sci Fi writers and all round nice guys.

Marieke Hardy from Reasons You Will Hate Me. My mum went to high school with Bob Ellis, who Ms Hardy named her dog after. She might not have time to respond to this but she’s the coolest polichick you’ll read.

Jenny from The So Called Me, who puts togther a mean blog carnivale!
